Graphic art – Free drawings in pencil, pen-and-ink and brush, as well as collages and prints

"Free" graphic art – that means, without final intention or order, more intuitively than reflectively created, non-utility graphic work; for Stankowski it formed the genuine basis for everything else, especially for his functional graphic work which purposefully aimed at set targets. Only his free graphic work granted Stankowski an "artiste's" position, according to old standards. The process of seeing – realizing – discovering becomes an exciting game, which requires naivety or intellect, respectively, in the viewer.
